Brandon Farrell's Notes:
Refosco is a masterful grape grown in Northern Italy on the Slovenia Border, very similar to Mondeuse grown in Northern France near the Alps. This grape makes incredible examples of rustic, unique, and powerful wines in Northern Europe. I firmly believe it has found a special home in Santa Barbara. With the famous California sunshine, the grape turns into a fantastic berry explosion with a rustic core at heart. For this cuvée, Jim and I agreed to fine the wine and throw a small % of a few extra grapes in the "pot" to create a smoother, more enjoyable wine on release, as this is intended to be a table wine with class. The artwork is by Niki Farrell, a painting of a cafe in Aix-en-Provence, the quintessential place in the world to have a glass of vin tableside at a cafe.
